The fifth-ranked Stanford women's golf team fired a seven-over par 291, the low round of the day, to move up three spots on the final day of competition to place third at the TRW Regional Challenge with a 900. Arizona took top honors finishing with a 884 (+32) to finish 11 strokes ahead of New Mexico State (893). Rounding out the top five were Texas (902) and Tulsa (904).
The Cardinal were led by freshmen Angela Rho (222) and Kim Kouwabunpat (222) who tied for sixth individually. Rho shot the low-round of the day with a one-under par 70. The tie for sixth was Kouwabunpat's best collegiate career finish while it tied Rho's, who also tied for sixth at the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational this fall.
Hilary Homeyer tied for 26th with a 229 while teammate Stephanie Keever carded a 230 to tie for 33rd. Sophomore Kim Rowton tied for 49th with a 234 three-day total.
Stanford has now finished in the top 10 in their last 26 tournaments and placed in the top 5 in six of the last eight.
The Cardinal are next in action at the Wildcat Invitational, February 19-21, in Tucson, Arizona.
