Irvine, Calif. -- Stanford (10-4 overall, 7-3 MPSF) took its second straight victory tonight, defeating UC Irvine 3-1 at Crawford Hall. The Anteaters were on a three match win-streak, but the Cardinal proved too strong for them.
Stanford dropped the first game, but then recovered to take the next three: 25-30, 30-27, 30-25, 30-25. Junior Marcus Skacel led Stanford with 22 kills. Sophomore William Curtis added 16 kills, while sophomore Paul Bocage contributed 12 with a .733 hitting percentage. Stanford edged Irvine in hitting percentage: .328 to .317 to help secure the victory.
Stanford returns to The Farm for a two week break before heading to La Verne, Calif. for a match on Tues., March 27 at 7 p.m.
