Women's Divers Complete First Day Of Bruin Diving Invitational

Pasadena, Calif. - Stanford placed five divers in the Top 10 of the women's 3-meter competition on the opening day of the Bruin Diving Invitational at the Rose Bowl Aquatic Center on Friday. McKenze Murphy was the top Cardinal diver in fourth place with a finals score of 509.15, a season-high and the best 3-meter championships format score by a Cardinal diver this season. Other Cardinal divers following Murphy were Kim Powers (6th, 470.60), Alexis Sowa (7th, 463.40), Ashlee Rosenthal (8th, 448.85) and Lauren Donovan (10th, 441.15). The scores for Sowa, Rosenthal and Donovan were all career-bests.

USC's Blythe Hartley won the event with a score of 573.65.

The Bruin Diving Invitational concludes on Saturday with the one-meter (10:00 a.m.) and platform (3:00 p.m.) events.
