Women's Golf Tied For 11th After First Round Of Wildcat Invitational

Tucson, Ariz. - The Stanford women's golf team fired a 305 in the first round of the Wildcat Invitational in Tucson, Ariz., and are tied for 11th in the team standings. Arizona sits atop the leaderboard with a 294 while Texas is second at 295. Rounding out the top five are UCLA (296), Duke (296) and Auburn (297). The Cardinal are only 11 strokes off the pace heading into the second round.

Arizona golfer Lorena Ochoa, along with Auburn's Courtney Swaim, are tied for first individually with a five-under par 67 after one round.

Junior Kim Rowton (San Antonio, Tx.) leads the Cardinal after shooting a 74 today and is tied for 14th. Sophomore Marcia Wallis (Los Gatos, Calif.) and Kim Kouwabunpat (Upland, Calif.) are tied for 35th at 76 while teammate Angela Rho (Fullerton, Calif.) is tied for 58th with a 79. Freshman Wendra Liang shot an 82 this afternoon and is tied for 78th.
