Eugene, Ore. - Stanford men's swimmer Randall Bal was one of 20 student-athletes from 15 schools voted to the 2002 Verizona Academic All-District VIII Men's At-Large first and second teams. Stanford led all schools with three overall selections.
The at-large team encompassed the sports of fencing, golf, gymnastics, hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, swimming, tennis, volleyball, water polo and wrestling, and was voted on by CoSIDA members from within the District VIII states of Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, Utah and Washington, and the provinces of British Columbia.
