CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - Stanford freshman K.C. Corkery made his collegiate debut a successful one on Tuesday morning with a 6-2, 6-2 upset over 13th-seeded Trystan Meniane of North Carolina in the first round of the qualifying draw at the 2002 Icy Hot/ITA Men's All-American Championships.
In the second round of qualifying, Corkery will face Johan Berg of Southern California, who is a recent transfer from Pepperdine, on Wednesday at 6:00 a.m. (PT).
The ITA All-American main draw begins on Thursday and will feature Stanford two-time All-Americans Scott Lipsky and David Martin. Lipsky and Martin are the top seed in the doubles main draw, and are also both entered in the singles draw.
