Moraga, Calif. - The No. 1 Stanford women's soccer team got two goals in the first ten minutes of the game and added one more in the final 30 seconds as they went on to a 3-0 victory over Tulane on Sunday afternoon in the third game of the Saint Mary's Fall Classic. Brittany Oliveira (Los Angeles, CA) passed the ball to Jennifer Farenbaugh (Reseda, CA) who was making a run down the side of the field. Farenbaugh collected the ball and sent a cross to Marcie Ward (Alamo, CA) who finished the play with the first goal of the game and her sixth of the season.

Following another scoring opportunity that was half cleared by the Tulane defenders, Becky Myers (St. Charles, IL) came up with the ball and passed it to Farenbaugh who turned and netted the goal at 9:36. Farenbaugh's goal gave Stanford a 2-0 lead just 10 minutes into the game.

Tulane got its first shot of the game in the 11th minute following a Stanford foul. Lindsay Morris took the free kick and sent the ball just high. The Cardinal kept pressuring and nearly had a goal in the 23rd minute when Myers' header barely missed high and wide. Marcia Wallis (Los Gatos, CA) fired a shot eight minutes before halftime that was saved, but nearly mishandled by the Green Wave keeper.

Katie Wayland (Concord, MA) had a three shots, two on goal in a four minute span. Wayland hit the post after a series of threats by the Cardinal offense and one minute later she fired a shot that was mishandled by Tulane's keeper, but a Green Wave defender was able to clear the ball.

Tulane got its second and final shot of the game in the 80th minute. Morris took a shot for the Green Wave, but Nicole Barnhart (Gilbertsville, PA) was able to tip it out for her only save of the day.

The Cardinal added their final goal of the game at 89:39 off a corner kick. Leah Tapscott (Madison, WI) took the kick and Anna Hare (Portland, OR) got the ball in a scramble, sending it to Natalie Sanderson (Ventura, CA) for the 3-0 win.
