Pasadena, Calif. - The top-ranked Stanford men and second-ranked women dominated the Pac-10 Championships on Saturday at the Brookside Golf Course. The men have now won the Pac-10 title for six of the last seven years, while the women have won seven straight and nine of the last 10 conference titles. The Cardinal also had both individual Pac-10 winners. Grant Robison defended his conference title by covering the 8000 meter course in 23:27, while Sara Bei won for the fourth time this season with a time of 19:48 in the women's 6000 meter race.
"The men's and women's teams were both dominant today," said Stanford director of track and field/cross country Vin Lananna. "They are good athletes that did a good job in executing a plan that set us up to win. I was thrilled with our performance, and it was a great day for the Cardinal."
The Stanford men cruised to a victory with just 19 points, finishing well ahead of second-place Oregon (51 points). Stanford runners took seven of the top nine spots, including the top three.
