Stanford, Calif. - Stanford and Portland battled to a 0-0 tie for 110 minutes in the NCAA Women's Soccer Quarterfinal match on Saturday night at Maloney Field before the Pilots came away with the 4-2 victory in penalty kicks in front of a packed house of 3049 fans. Portland advances to the Women's College Cup, while the Cardinal end their season at 21-2-0.

Portland's Colleen Salisbury netted the game-winning score on the Pilots' fourth penalty kick. Stanford's Becky Myers (St. Charles, IL) took the first kick, but her shot hit the post and bounced out. Following a Portland make, Natalie Spilger (El Cajon, CA) connected tying the score at 1-1. Kristen Rogers then gave the Pilots a 2-1 advantage. Natalie Sanderson's (Ventura, CA) attempt missed and Christina Sinclair netted her kick to hold a 3-1 lead. Two minutes later, Jennifer Farenbaugh (Reseda, CA) had the best scoring opportunity of the game. Farenbaugh fired a shot in the 78th minute that Arase made an unbelievable save, preserving the 0-0 tie. Portland's Lauren Orlandos' shot attempt at the end of regulation off a free kick was saved sending the game into overtime.
