NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Stanford freshman Kelsey Twist had three goals and three assists in the Cardinal's 15-10 loss at 10th-ranked Vanderbilt on Thursday afternoon. The Cardinal fell to 3-6 on the season, while the Commodores improved to 6-2.
Stanford jumped out to a 2-0 lead just 6:06 into the contest thanks to a pair of assists by Twist. Liz Britt put the Cardinal on top at the 3:06 mark, while Ali Salatii scored exactly three minutes later. After Vanderbilt came back to take a 5-4 lead, Stanford received back-to-back goals from Larissa Conte and Julia Calzonetti to take a 6-5 halftime lead.
The Cardinal extended the lead to 8-6 on a pair of early second half goals from Twist, but the host Commodores responded with seven unanswered goals to pull away.
Britt added two goals for Stanford, while Claire Calzonetti, Julia Calzonetti, Conte, Nina Pantano and Jess Scott added a goal apiece.
Stanford returns to action on Saturday, April 6 when it visits the University of Denver at 1:00 p.m. (MT). The Cardinal's next home game is Friday, April 12 against California at 7:00 p.m.
