STANFORD, Calif. - The 18th-ranked Stanford University women's lacrosse team improved to 6-1 on the season with a 10-6 victory over visiting Harvard (1-5) on Tuesday night at Maloney Field.
Stanford pulled the game out with four unanswered goals in the final 20 minutes to break a 6-6 tie. Sophomore Kelsey Twist (Baltimore, MD) scored the eventual game-winning goal with 18:32 to play. Freshman Megan Burker (Baltimore, MD) added a pair of insurance tallies, while sophomore Nina Pantano (Wayne, PA) also scored in the final minutes.
Twist led the way for the Cardinal with two goals and three assists on the night, while Burker added three goals and Pantano and sophomore Julia Calzonetti (Sea Cliff, NY) chipped in two goals apiece.
Senior Katie Shaughnessy had four goals and an assist for the Crimson, while sophomore Bessie Clark contributed two assists.
Stanford continues this six-game homestand on Saturday, March 29 against Duke at 12:00 p.m. at Maloney Field.
