No. 4 Stanford Rained Out At Sacramento State Saturday

April 12, 2003

Sacramento, Calif. - The non-conference game scheduled between No. 4 Stanford (23-10) and Sacramento State (20-16) scheduled to be played in Sacramento on Saturday, April 12, has been postponed due to rain. The teams have rescheduled the game at Sacramento State for Tuesday, April 22 (2:30 pm).

Stanford won the first meeting of the season between the teams at Sunken Diamond on Friday night, 9-1, to extend its win streak to five games and win for the 20th time in its last 25 outings. Sacramento State's season-best four-game win streak was snapped.

Stanford (7-2 Pac-10) currently leads the Pac-10 standings, sitting 1.5 games ahead of second-place California (6-4 Pac-10).

Stanford will return to Sunken Diamond for four games next week. The Cardinal hosts San Jose State on Tuesday, April 15 (6 pm, PT) before returning to Pac-10 action by welcoming Oregon State to Sunken Diamond for a three-game series Thursday-Saturday, April 17-19 (6 pm, 6 pm, 1 pm, PT). After the rescheduled game at Sacramento State, Stanford will then host Arizona for three Pac-10 games Friday-Sunday, April 25-27 (6 pm, 1 pm, 1 pm, PT) before concluding the homestand with a non-conference game versus Santa Clara on Tuesday, April 29 (6 pm, PT).

The Arizona game on April 25 will be the first Stanford Baseball game to be televised by the College Sports Television Network (CSTV), which made its debut earlier this month. Stanford's home game versus UCLA on Sunday, May 18, is also scheduled to be televised by CSTV.
