Women's Golf In 18th Heading Into Final Round At NCAA Championships

West Lafayette, Ind. - The Stanford women's golf team shot a 307 in the third round of the 2003 NCAA Championships in West Lafayette, Ind. and sit in 18th place overall with a three-round total of 944. Southern California continues to lead the pack with a 901, followed by Pepperdine (908). Oklahoma State is third with a 912. Rounding out the top five are Texas (917) and Florida (918).

Senior Kim Rowton (San Antonio, TX) continues to lead the Cardinal and is tied for 25th individually with a 230 (74-77-79). Junior Angela Rho is tied for 68th with a 237 (79-82-76) followed by teammate Kim Kouwabunpat who is tied for 72nd (82-83-73--238) after carding a one-over par 73 on the day. Sophomore Wendra Liang is currently tied for 86th with a 242 (84-79-79). Freshman Kelly Husted is tied for 105th (81-83-82).

USC's Mikaela Parlmid and Florida's Andrea Vander Lende are tied for first on the leaderboard with a four-over par 220. Oklahoma State's Annie Thurman dropped to third and is one stroke off the pace with a 221. Pepperdine's Lindsey Wright is fourth. Three golfers are tied for fifth at nine-over par 225.

Action concludes tomorrow at the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex on the Kampen Course in West Lafayette, Ind.
