Los Angeles, Ca - USC's Nik Andrejic scored two goals as part of a six-goal third period on Saturday and the fourth-ranked USC men's water polo team defeated second-ranked Stanford, 9-7, in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation game at McDonald's Swim Stadium.
Down 4-2 early in the third period, the Trojans reeled off seven unanswered goals.
Tony Azevedo led the Cardinal with four goals, scoring two at the end of the second quarter for a 3-1 Cardinal lead at halftime. Thomas Hale started the Trojan streak in the third period as goalie Bozidar Damjanovic made four saves in the period.
Chad Taylor recorded seven saves for Stanford.
Stanford, which travels to Loyola Marymount on Sunday (noon), is 8-3 overall and 1-1 in the MPSF. USC now is 12-2 overall and 3-0 in the conference.
