Sammamish, Wash. - The Stanford women's golf team shot a 309 on the final day of competition at the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational to finish sixth in the team standings with a three-round total of 925. Arizona turned in a final round score of 304 at Sahalee Country Club to win the tournament by three strokes at 32-over 896. California, which held a one-stroke lead heading into the final round, tied UCLA for second at 899. Three-time defending champion USC was fourth at 914 and Oregon came in fifth (924).
The Cardinal was led by sophomore golfer Stephanie Lue who fired a 73 on the final day to record a 227 to place 14th individually. Freshman Lauren Todd, competing as an individual, tied for 21st, carding a 230 (78-76-76). Teammate Kelly Husted and Jennifer Tangtiphaiboontana tied for 31st (233)for the tournament. Wendra Liang tied for 47th on the individual leaderboard, posting a 239 while Angela Rho tied for 51st (242).
Arizona led by Erica Blasberg, who tied USC's Irene Cho for medalist honors at 3-over 219. Blasberg shot 74 during the final round, which proved to be the second best score for the day. No player managed to break par Wednesday as occasional showers combined with gusty winds to challenge the field. San Francisco's Kristi Larsen also carded a 73 to move from up from 10th to third on the final round's leaderboard.
