Long Beach, Ca - Second-seeded Stanford scored three consecutive goals, starting at 1:41 in the third quarter to take its first lead of the match and went on to score a 9-7 victory over third-seeded UCLA in the championship semifinals of the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Tournament on Saturday night at the Belmont Plaza Pool.
The Cardinal, ranked second in the nation, trailed 3-2 after one period, and 6-5 at halftime.
Tony Azevedo recorded three goals for Stanford to bring his tournament goal count to seven.
The Bruins never trailed until the Cardinal surge in the third quarter.
The Cardinal will face top-seeded USC in Sunday's championship match at 4:30 p.m.
