Fullerton, Calif. - Sophomore Lauren Lappin hit three doubles and scored three runs as the No. 10 Stanford softball team shutout UC Santa Barbara, 4-0, this afternoon at the CS Fullerton Worth Invitational. The Cardinal improve to 17-5 on the season and 4-0 at the tournament.
UCSB threatened in the top of the first as lead-off hitter Leslie Simien found herself on third with just one out. But Cardinal pitcher Dana Sorensen got a fly out and a strike out to end the inning with no damage done.
In the bottom of the second, shortstop Lauren Lappin led off with a bloop double to short leftcenterfield. Jessica Allister fly out to rightfield moved Lappin to third. A single to centerfield by Meghan Sickler scored Lappin to give Stanford the 1-0 lead.

In the bottom of the sixth, Catalina Morris led off with a single through the right side. Lappin notched her third double of the game to drive Morris home. She advanced to third on a fly out by Allister. Sickler singled to left to bring home Lappin and put the Cardinal up 4-0.
