Los Angeles, Calif. - The Stanford University men's tennis team was edged by the USC Trojans, 4-3, Friday afternoon at the Marks Tennis Stadium. With the loss, the Cardinal fall to 12-4 on the year, while the Trojans improve to 15-2 on the year.

The doubles matches would determine the match with the Cardinal and the Trojans splitting the singles matches, 3-3. The Trojans swept the doubles matches, to win the eventual deciding point.

In singles action, sophomore All-American KC Corkery, and freshmen James Wan and Chris Rasmussen collected wins for the Cardinal. Corkery defeated No. 71 Johan Berg, 0-6, 6-3, 6-1 at the No. 2 singles spot, while Wan picked up his 21st win of the year with a straight sets, 6-1, 6-4 win over No. 47 Ruben Torres in No. 4 singles action. Rasmussen registered his first win over a ranked opponent this season with a 7-6, 1-6, 11-9 win over No. 92 Drew Hoskins at the No. 6 singles spot.

The Cardinal look to rebound when they head to UCLA on Saturday to take on the Bruins in a dual match starting at 1:00 pm at the Los Angeles Tennis Center.
