Moderator: Hello everyone. Welcome to our Chat Room. Leigh is here and ready to answer your questions. Let's get started.
Mamaceta (Atlanta): You're so fast. Where do you get your speed from?
stan-sm-chat-icon.gif spacer.gif Leigh: Hey Mom, I love you. I'm not sure exactly, but it's got to have something to do with my athletic parents and running around the neighborhood as a kid.
Scott (San Diego): Where do you see yourself five years from now?
stan-sm-chat-icon.gif spacer.gif Leigh: I'm putting that in God's hands, but I would love to be picking off passes for the Atlanta Falcons.
Carl (San Dimas): Take USC out of the equation: What will be the toughest game in 2004?
stan-sm-chat-icon.gif spacer.gif Leigh: We have a tough schedule next year as we do every year, However I feel that we will really have a great chance at success with our first four games at home. The SC, Washingon, ND, Washington St. back to back to back to back will be a big test for our team next season and a major indicator of how successfull we will be.
Dominic (Daphne, AL): Leigh, aside from the practices and other physical training, what would you say has had the greatest influence on your success as a football player?
stan-sm-chat-icon.gif spacer.gif Leigh: My relationship with God, and the support of my family and friends, who are allways with me. They give me a confidence in myself and my ability, without which I probably wouldn't be here today.-Great question Cus.

Red Dog (Sacramento): Leigh,

You were an all-Pac 10 academic selection. How much time do you spend on your studies? How do the demands of football impede on the academic load?

stan-sm-chat-icon.gif spacer.gif Leigh: I was lucky to have figured out pretty early on just what level of work and time I was going to have to put into my studies in order to be successfull. I wouldn't say that i killed myself in the classroom, but it was definitely a major priority in my life and I made a point to do well.
Earl (E.J.) Bolden- Hampton, VA: Whats Up cuzin. Glad to hear that you're doing big things out therre. What do you believe is your strenth and weakness on the playing field ?
stan-sm-chat-icon.gif spacer.gif Leigh: What's going on E.J.- I think that my strengths as a player are my speed and quickness, but what I pride myself on is mental and physical toughness, which stems from a desire to be the best. Maybe after I'm finished playing we will talk about my weaknesses. -Never give them an inch cousin, never give them and inch!
Papatunde (Naperville): What are your ultimate goals this year for the team and for yourself? Keep up the good work. See you at the games and the Rose Bowl. GO CARDINAL!!!
stan-sm-chat-icon.gif spacer.gif Leigh: We want to win them all. As a team we want to stay together throughout the season and build on the successes of last year. Personally I just want to be a part of a winning team and contribute to our success, whatever awards or honors come from that, I will be happy to recieve.

Samuel (Sausalito): Hi Leigh,

I'm a regular at home games. Someone pointed out your dad at one game. He's quite a character! Are you anything like the old man?

stan-sm-chat-icon.gif spacer.gif Leigh: I try to be. He's got a real passion for life and it wears off on you. Thanks Pops for that crazy support.

Big L (Atlanta): Hi Number One Son, going into your final season, what do u think u will miss most about your time at Stanford?

Peace

stan-sm-chat-icon.gif spacer.gif Leigh: Wow. College is such a great time, and there are so many things that I will miss. I will really miss the football and especially my teamates. Being able to wake up in the morning without a care in the world and knowing that your getting the opportunity to do something that you love. I have really been blessed. I will miss it all the good and the bad. I'm enjoying every minute of it.-ROO to the Good Bruhz!
Losdog, Frisco: Who are some of the big surprises this spring??
stan-sm-chat-icon.gif spacer.gif Leigh: Getting a chance to see some of the freshmen really mix it up for the first time has been fun to watch. I wouldn't say that they are surprises, but just really good things to see for the future of Stanford Football. Jason Evans has been running the ball really well. My son Tim Sims is really becoming a man at the corner spot and I can't wait to see him go get it. There is a lot of maturing going on in our team and I love it!.
Godsister #1 Moni (Atlanta): What are your plans after graduation? Do you have any plans of continuing your athletic career on a professional level?
stan-sm-chat-icon.gif spacer.gif Leigh: I have put a lot into this sport and I hope to get a chance to show what I can do at the next level. Aside from football I am very concerned with the education of our country's youth and I would love to play a role in helping to advance those segments of our population that continue to suffer from a lack of resources and opportunity. -Thats my political bit for today! Thanks Godsister see you in the A.
GRAAAADRedz: Leigh, I've noticed you doing something with your hands after you make a big play. What is that you're throwing up?
stan-sm-chat-icon.gif spacer.gif

Leigh: I'm a member of The Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. and that is a little something that brothers around the world do to acknowledge one another. Its called throwing up the Hooks.

- Roo to the Good Redz

Shopping (Stanford): What words of wisdom would you give to someone seeking excellence in their sport?
stan-sm-chat-icon.gif spacer.gif

Leigh: Be strong and resolute and no matter what happens or what stands in your way persevere.

- And I'm out Allright Allright!!

Moderator: Thanks for all your questions. Leigh needs to head out for a team meeting now.
