STANFORD, Calif. - After nine innings, one run by Hofstra's Adrienne Clark decided a 1-0 game against Auburn in Game Two of the NCAA Softball Regional at Smith Family Stadium on the campus of Stanford University.
In the top half of the ninth inning, Hofstra's Adrienne Clark doubled to left field to drive in Meaghan Almon, who walked with two outs to get things going for Hofstra earlier in the inning. Clark also picked up the win for Hofstra after relieving starting pitcher Callie Osborne in the bottom of the eighth inning.
Auburn's Kristen Keyes was solid in the circle as she recorded 17 strikeouts while going the distance for the Tigers. Sara Ghezzi paced Auburn at the plate going 2-for-4 in the loss.
Seventh-seeded Hofstra remains in the winner's circle and will face No. 6-seed Southern Illinois on Friday at 12:30 pm. Second-seeded Auburn faces Fresno State in an elimination game in the nightcap this evening.
