Stanford's 6-3 deficit at halftime marked the first time this season that the Cardinal trailed at the intermission. Stanford was held to five yards rushing, 61 passing and 66 total yards in the first half - all season lows. PK Michael Sgroi extended his field goal streak to 10 with his 28-yard field goal in the second quarter ... The streak was snapped later in the period when Sgroi missed from 38 yards out ... His streak was the third longest in school history behind John Hopkins (12 in 1988) and Mark Harmon (11 in 1981). Sgroi now has 27 career field goals, moving him into a tie for No. 7 on Stanford's all-time list with Kevin Miller (1995-98). T.C. Ostrander's two-yard TD pass to Patrick Danahy in the fourth quarter was the first of his career. Ostrander finished with 236 yards passing - nearly double his season total of 122 yards in two previous games (vs. San Jose St. and BYU) Danahy has caught four passes in his Cardinal career, three of which have been two-yard touchdown receptions ... It ties the sixth lowest total in school history (-8 yards rushing vs. Penn State in 1973). Redshirt freshman Mikal Brewer started today's game at center for the injured Brian Head ... Brewer started game 5 at Notre Dame at right guard and played most of last week's game at Washington State at center after Head went out with an injury.
