Santa Barbara, Ca. - The second-ranked Stanford men's water polo team scored seven unanswered goals to begin the match and went on to a 10-5 victory over fourth-ranked UC Santa Barbara in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation game on Sunday.

Tony Azevedo led Stanford scorers with three goals. Two of Stanford's four first period goals were scored by Azevedo, who now leads team in scoring with 49 goals. UC Santa Barbara did not score its first goal until 3:45 remaining in the second period.

Chad Taylor recorded 13 saves for the Cardinal, which upped its season record to 16-3 overall and 4-1 in the MPSF. The Gauchos fell to 17-8 overall and 2-3 in league play.
