Stanford Falls 1-0 in Overtime at Washington

Seattle, Wash. - Thirteenth-ranked Stanford lost a 1-0 double overtime decision to No. 17 Washington this evening at Husky Soccer Field. Washington's Kim Taylor scored the game-winning goal in the 107th minute on an assist from Tina Frimpong. With the loss, Stanford falls to 12-5-2 on the year with a 4-3-1 mark in conference play, while Washington improves to 13-4-2, with a 4-3-1 Pac-10 record.

The Cardinal kept Washington scoreless for 106 minutes, but the Huskies converted on their 14th shot of the game to earn the victory. Stanford offensive threats Marcie Ward (Alamo, Calif./Carondelet) and Leah Tapscott (Madison, Wis./James Madison Memorial) combined for six shots, but the Cardinal could not find the back of the net. Cardinal keeper Nicole Barnhart (Gilbertsville, Pa./Boyertown) picked up five saves on the night, moving her up to No. 3 in school history with 197 saves in her career.

Stanford will wrap up the regular season on Sunday when the Cardinal take on Washington State at noon in Pullman.
