Day Two Results From Pac-10 Diving Championships

Federal Way, WA - At the 2004 Pac-10 Men's and Women's Diving Championships, hosted by UCLA and held at the Weyerhauser King County Aquatic Center, Arizona State sophomore Joona Puhakka and Stanford freshman Cassidy Krug won Pac-10 titles. Puhakka won the men's three-meter and Krug won the women's one-meter.

Puhakka set a new Pac-10 meet record of 674.75 to win the men's three-meter title. USC's Justin Dumais set the previous record of 658.05 in 1999. Yesterday, Puhakka won the men's one-meter springboard title, scoring 381.20. As a freshman last year, he won both the one- and three-meter titles. Puhakka was also named the Pac-10 Men's Diver and Newcomer in Diving of the Year.

Cardinal diver Jesse Fonner took eighth in the three-meter event with a score of 479.20 in the finals. Stanford's Kevin McLean placed 14th overall (401.95).

The Pac-10 Diving Championships will conclude tomorrow with the men's and women's platform prelims and finals.
