Stanford, Calif. - It was a record-setting day at the Stanford golf course as top-ranked Duke won the Stanford Pepsi Intercollegiate firing an 18-under par 834 over three rounds. The 54-hole score is a new course record for the newly designed par 71, 6,025 yardage course. Stanford tied for ninth overall with a 888 (+36) after carding a 292 this afternoon. UCLA placed second (861), followed by USC (863), Pepperdine (869) and Arizona State (882).

Rounding out the top 10 are UNLV (883), Vanderbilt (886), Arizona (886), California (888) and Stanford (888).

Fourteen of the top 25 teams nationally took part in the tournament this weekend. Duke head coach Dan Brooks registered his 92nd tournament win at the Pepsi Intercollegiate - an NCAA tournament record.

Duke's Elizabeth Janangelo took top individual honors with an 11-under par 202 for the tournament. Her six-under par 65 in the final round set a new course record as well. Teammates Anna Grzebien and Amamnda Blumenherst tied for second at four-under 209. Washington's Paige Mackenzie was fourth with a three-under 210, followed by USC's Irene Cho, who shot a two-under 211.

The Cardinal was led by freshman Mari Chun who tied for 10th individually with a 215. Chun fired a collegiate-best three-under par 68 in the final round today. Senior Kelly Husted tied for 28th overall with a 221 (75-73-73) to aid the Stanford effort. Jennifer Tangtiphaiboontana (77-73-75) and Stephanie Lue (76-74-75), competing as an individual, both shot a 225 to tie for 43rd. Cardinal Lauren Todd tied for 65th, carding a 230 (77-75-78) while teammate Ki-Shui Liao turned in a 231 (76-79-76) to tie for 73rd. Stanford's Jenna Seki, competing as an individual, tied for 81st (80-77-79--236).

The Cardinal next hit the links, October 31-November 2, in Kapolei, Hawaii, for the 2005 Kent Youel Invitational.
