Stanford, Ca - In a match that only took one hour and 27 minutes to complete, the fifth-ranked Stanford women's volleyball team scored a 30-20, 30-23, 30-20 decision over the Oregon Ducks in a Pacific-10 match Thursday night at Maples Pavilion.

Junior outside hitter Kristin Richards and freshman middle blocker Foluke Akinradewo each collected a match-high 17 kills. Richards added ten digs while Akinradewo hit .577. Senior libero Courtney Schultz tallied 13 digs to give her 977 career digs.

As a team, Stanford hit .346 while holding the Ducks to a .110 hitting percentage.

The victory raised Stanford's record to 19-3 overall and 8-2 in the Pac-10. Oregon fell to 11-10 overall and 1-9 in the conference.

Oregon jumped to a 2-1 lead in game one, but a 7-1 run by the Cardinal gave the home team an 8-3 lead. The Ducks, however, changed the momentum and went ahead 10-8. The momentum changed for good as the Cardinal surged ahead, 13-12, and upped the margin to as many as ten points at 29-19. A kill by junior outside hitter Kristin Richards gave Stanford the 30-20 game one victory.

A 5-4 Duck lead didn't last long as the Cardinal controlled the tempo for most of game two. A 9-2 run gave Stanford a 13-7 advantage. Oregon tied the game at 17-17, but a 6-0 run put the Cardinal in front to stay. The lead was built to eight points at 29-21, and a kill by freshman middle blocker Foluke Akinradewo gave Stanford a 30-23 game two win.

Again, the Ducks took the early lead in game three at 5-3. Stanford tied the match at 9-9, and then went on a 10-0 run to seal Oregon's fate. Two attack errors by Oregon gave Stanford its 29th and 30th points of game three (30-20) and the match.
