San Martin, Calif. - After the first 36 holes of play at the CordeValle Collegiate, the Stanford men's golf team sits in 12th place overall with a two-round total of 589 (298-291). UCLA leads the field with an 11-under 565, followed by Northwestern (568) who are only three strokes off the pace set by the Bruins. Rounding out the top five are Arkansas (575), Texas (579) and California (579).

Junior Zack Miller opened this morning with a one-over par 73, then fired a three-under 69 in the afternoon to shoot a 142 on the day. He is currently tied for 10th on the individual leaderboard. Teammate Matt Savage carded rounds of 73 and 74 today for a 147 (+3) and is tied for 30th heading into tomorrow's final round. Freshman Daniel Lim is tied for 41st after posting a five-over 149 (76-73) while fellow frosh Dodge Kemmer is tied for 55th with a seven-over 151 (76-75) on the day. Cardinal Matt Shin shot a 155 (79-76) to sit 74th overall.

Northwestern's Kyle Moore used a second-round 65 to take the stroke play lead at 6-under 136 through the first day of play. He opened with a 1-under 71. UCLA's Daniel Im was second at 138 and California's Michael Wilson was third at 139.

Competition concludes tomorrow at the CordeValle Country Club. CordeValle measures 7,169 yards and carries a par of 72.
