Wager has sailed the Singlehandeds since first qualifying his sophomoreyear. He finished 9th in 2004, 5th in 2005, and now, first. "This is atestament to Emery's training regimen, and the continued effort of ourcurrent team to step up to the next level," said Coach Kehoe of thevictory. "Emery sailed a phenomenal second day," he continued. Wagerpulled himself up from 7th after Friday's races to first overall with asequence of consistent finishes in Saturday's shifty, Northwesterly breezeon Mt. Hope Bay. After Saturday, 12 races were completed in the Men's fleetand 11 in the Women's. Sunday's breeze was too light to continue thecontest, so racing was cancelled at 1:30 pm.

Junior Evan Brown sailed a very consistent series in the Women's Fleet. Atlast year's event, brown took 7th overall. "Evan sailed great in very toughconditions," commented Coach Kehoe. Senior Caroline Young sailed this eventfor the first time and earned 15th.
