Box Score

Springfield, Mass. - Stanford could not handle a balanced Nittany Lions squad and fell in three games (22-30, 26-30, 25-30) Saturday evening at the Hall of Fame Classic in Springfield, Mass. With the Cardinal loss, Stanford drops to 4-10 on the season, while Penn State improves to 6-4.

Senior Ben Reddy (Waukesha, WI), who was named to the All-Tournament team, led the Cardinal offense with 18 kills, while fellow senior Jeremy Jacobs (Dallas, TX) contributed with 25 assists. Senior Chris Ahlfeldt (Manhattan Beach, CA) led the defense with 2 blocks.

But the combined effort was not enough to push Stanford past a Penn State offense that hit .400, compared with .180 for the Cardinal. Stanford was also outblocked, 5.0 to 13.0.

The Cardinal next travel to Los Angeles to face off with seventh-ranked UCLA at 7 PM on Thursday.
