David Stringer Honored On District 8 All-Academic Team

Stanford, Calif. - Stanford junior pitcher David Stringer has been named to 2007 ESPN The Magazine District 8 All-Academic Baseball First Team released Thursday. Stringer is a Mathematical and Computational Sciences major with a 3.88 cumulative GPA at Stanford. He was honored for the first time in his career. Stringer's selection automatically makes him eligible for the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America squad.

Stringer has supported his work in the classroom with team-highs of 26 appearances and seven saves for Stanford on the field in 2007. He ranks second and seventh in the Pac-10 in those categories, while his seven saves are also tied for the 10th best single-season ever at Stanford.

Stanford will next return home to Sunken Diamond for a three-game set against Washington this Friday-Sunday, May 11-13 (6 pm, 1 pm, 1 pm, PT) with CSTV televising Sunday's series finale live.
