St. George, Utah - The Stanford women's golf team slipped a notch to second place on day two of the 2007 NCAA West Regional at the Snow Canyon Country Club in St. George, Utah. The Cardinal shot a 300 today to bring their two-round total to 587. Oklahoma State took a six stroke lead after shooting a 290 today (291-290-581). Rounding out the top five are Arizona State (590), UC Irvine (597) and Pepperdine (600).
Sophomore Mari Chun led the Cardinal today turning in a one over par 72 and moving up the leaderboard into a tie for fifth with a three-over 145 (73-72). Freshman Catherina Wang also moved up the charts into a tie for ninth overall with a four-over 146 (73-73). Seniors Jennifer Tangtiphaiboontana (69-79) and Lauren Todd (72-76) are tied for 18th with a 148. Teammate Angela King turned in a 79 today and is tied for 63rd with a 158 (79-79).
Oklahoma State's Penilla Lindberg leads the field at six-under par 136 after two rounds.
The tournament concludes on Saturday with a final round of 18 holes. The top-eight teams will advance to the NCAA Championships, May 22-25, in Daytona Beach, Fla.
