STANFORD
Stanford dropped its sixth straight game to Notre Dame with the most recent Stanford victory over the Fighting Irish having coming with a 17-13 Stanford victory at Stanford Stadium on November 24, 2001.
Stanford recovered a season-high-tying three fumbles for the second straight game and has now forced at least one turnover in nine of its last 10 games.
Mark Bradford had seven catches for 111 yards to record his second straight 100-plus yard receiving game for the first time in his career and for the first time since Justin McCullum had back-to-back 100-plus yard receiving efforts at USC (11/5/05) and Oregon State (11/12/05). Bradford increased his career totals to 164 receptions and 2347 receiving yards. Bradford moved up one spot to fifth on Stanford's all-time reception list and four places to sixth on Stanford's all-time list for receiving yards. Bradford also increased his career-best 2007 reception total to 46.
Anthony Kimble tied his career-high with two rushing TDs and now has eight on the season, which is the most by a Stanford player since Brian Allen and Kerry Carter both had nine rushing TDs in 2001. Kimble, who carried the ball a career-high 20 times for 80 yards, was back in action for the first time since October 13 as he had missed the past four games with an injury. Kimble also established his new career-high for rushing yards in a season during the game and now has a total of 509 in 2007.
Jeremy Stewart rushed for a career-high-tying 54 yards for the second consecutive game and also tied a career-best with a 12-yard rush.
Tavita Pritchard rushed for a career-high 35 yards on nine carries but also equaled his career-high with two interceptions. Pritchard threw for 102 yards on 10-of-24 passing and is now over the 1000-yard passing mark for the season with 1069.
Corey Gatewood made the first catch of his Stanford career.
Emmanuel Awofadeju had the first interception of his career.
Doug Baldwin returned four kicks for a career-best 110 yards and also equaled the longest return of his career with a 42-yarder.
The game was Stanford's longest of the season, clocking in at 3:41.
Stanford had a season-high 13.0 tackles for loss and now has 92.0 on the season, which is the most since the Cardinal had 91.0 in 1999. Clinton Snyder (3.0), Chike Amajoyi (2.0) and Bo McNally (1.5) all had career-high tackle for loss totals, while Pannel Egboh (2.5) tied his career-high for TFL.
Stanford had 5.0 sacks and now has 35.0 on the season, which is the most the club has had since recording 46.0 in 1999.
Clinton Snyder and Pannel Egboh both forced their team-high-tying third fumbles of the season, while Pat Maynor forced the first of his career. Snyder's was the sixth of his career, while Egboh's was his third.
Chike Amajoyi recovered his team-leading third fumble of the season, while Udeme Udofia had his first of the season (second career) and Gustav Rydstedt the first of his career.
Stanford had a season-high 81 penalty yards and equaled a season-high with eight penalties. Stanford also allowed a season-high-tying five first downs by penalty.
Pannel Egboh extended his consecutive games started streak to 23.
