Stanford Remains In Seventh At Pac-10 Championships

Stanford remains in seventh place after the second day of the Pac-10 Championships from the Palos Verdes Golf Club in Palos Verdes, Calif. On Tuesday the Cardinal shot a round of 24-over-par 308 for a two-day total of 42-over-par 610.

The Cardinal trail USC who leads on their home course with a score of 9-over-par 577. They fired the low round of the day with a score of 8-over-par 292 to overtake UCLA as the tournament leader. The Bruins fell to second after shooting a round of 18-over-par 302 for a two-day total of 18-over-par 586. Rounding out the top-3 is Arizona State who sits at 22-over-par 590 after a round of 10-over-par 294 on Tuesday.

The Cardinal were led by last year's runner-up who fired a round of 4-over-par 75 for the second consecutive day. Chun is currently tied for 17th with a score of 8-over-par 150 and is eight strokes off the lead. Tiffany Joh of UCLA and Belen Mozo of USC lead the tournament with scores of even-par 142.

Playing well on Tuesday was for the Cardinal. Her 5-over-par round of 76 moved her into a tie for 26th with a two-day score of 11-over-par 153. She is tied with who fired a 7-over-par 78 on Tuesday for the same two-day total.

In a tie for 32nd are and who have shot identical rounds of 76 on Monday and 8-over-par 79 on Tuesday for two-day totals of 13-over-par 155.

Stanford will return to Palos Verdes Golf Club tomorrow for the final round of the Pac-10 Championships. The Cardinal currently sit four strokes back of California for sixth place and ten strokes off of the tie in fourth place between Arizona and Oregon.
