The Stanford multi-event athletes showed their strength Thursday on the second day of the Cal Multis from Berkeley, Calif. The three Stanford athletes competing all placed in the top-four to complete two days of competition.
Whitney Liehr led the Cardinal, placing second in the heptathlon with 4,947 points. Her best event of the day came in the long jump where she had the top mark of the day with a jump of 18-7.
Also faring well for the women was Kara Bennett who finished fourth with 4,523 points. Bennett excelled in the javelin on Thursday where her throw of the 133-3 was the best of the day.
For the men, Corey Dysick had a strong day to move up from fifth to third and finish with 6,345 points. Dysick used the best pole vault of the day (14-11 ¼) to move up in the standings.
The conclusion of the Cal Multis leads directly into the Stanford Invitational, which takes place April 4-5. The Stanford Invitational will host some of the best high school and collegiate races on the west coast this season.
