WINDERMERE, Fla. - The seventh-ranked Stanford men’s golf team finished in eighth place at the conclusion of the Isleworth-UCF Collegiate Invitational this afternoon. The Cardinal shot a collective 37-over-par 901 (301-292-308), 34 strokes behind winner Georgia.
Junior Joseph Bramlett and sophomore Steve Ziegler each earned a place in the top-25 on the leaderboard, as Bramlett completed his three rounds with a four-over-par 220 to finish in a tie for 14th. Ziegler carded a seven-over-par 223 and ended in a tie for 20th.
Freshman David Chung and senior Dodge Kemmer, who were separated by one stroke at the end, found themselves in the middle of the pack. Chung shot a 13-over-par 229 (t-47th), and Kemmer recorded a 14-over-par 230 (t-52nd). Sophomore Sihwan Kim had a tough day in the third round, posting an 85 to bring his total to a 23-over-par 239.
The first-place Bulldogs blew away the rest of the pack with a cumulative total of three-over-par 867, 17 strokes ahead of second-place Alabama. Georgia also captured the individual title, as Russell Henley beat Indiana’s Jorge Campillo by two strokes with a four-under-par 212.
Stanford will not have much time off from competition, and will not have to travel to begin its next fall tournament, The CordeValle Classic in San Martin, Calif. next Monday.

WINDERMERE, Fla. - Seventh-ranked Stanford improved upon its first round total by nine strokes, recording a team cumulative score of four-over-par 292 today in the second round of the Isleworth-UCF Collegiate Invitational. The Cardinal now sit in a two-way tie for eighth place with second-ranked Oklahoma State with a 17-over-par 593.
Junior Joseph Bramlett turned in a solid performance for Stanford, slicing off 10 strokes from his previous day's score and notching six birdies in a five-under-par 67 showing. Bramlett jumped from 59th place all the way to a tie for 12th with an even-par 144.
Sophomore Steve Ziegler and freshman David Chung each carded a two-over-par 74 on the day. Ziegler dropped two places on the leaderboard into a tie for 20th with a three-over-par 147, while Chung improved five places into a tie for 30th with a five-over par 149.
Senior Dodge Kemmer repeated yesterday's round of five-over-par 77 and sophomore Sihwan Kim recorded a six-over 78, putting the two into a tie for 66th.
Fourth-ranked Georgia overtook the lead from sixth-ranked Alabama, which fell to third, posting an outstanding 11-under-par cumulative total of 277 in the second round. The Bulldogs now have an overall score of five-under 571. No. 15 Indiana remains in second with a two-under-par 574. Third-ranked USC is in fourth, and No. 29 Texas Tech follows in fifth place.
The Cardinal will be part of the first group to tee off at 8 a.m. tomorrow in the tournament's third and final round, and is paired with Texas and Oklahoma State.

WINDERMERE, Fla. - Seventh-ranked Stanford struggled to get a lead on the field at the Isleworth/UCF Collegiate Invitational in this afternoon's first round, shooting a collective 13-over-par 301.
The Cardinal will have to whittle down its score over the next two rounds if it hopes to catch leader Alabama, which posted a one-under 287.
Sophomore Steve Ziegler tallied the best afternoon for Stanford, firing a one-over-par 73. He is currently tied for 18th. Ziegler recorded four birdies on the day.
The rest of the Cardinal is not far behind Ziegler, either. Freshman David Chung completed the day in a tie for 35th, notching a three-over-par 75. Chung struggled in the back nine, but turned in a one-under-par performance on the front nine, courtesy of an eagle on the par-five seventh hole.
Sophomore Sihwan Kim posted a four-over-par 76 to put himself in a tie for 47th, and senior Dodge Kemmer and junior Joseph Bramlett each carded a five-over-par 77 to tie for 59th.
Filling out the top-5 team spots on the leaderboard behind Alabama is Indiana in second, USC in third, and Texas Tech and Georgia in a tie for fourth. Individually, the Hoosiers' Jorge Campillo and the Crimson Tide's Matthew Swan share the lead with a four-under 68.
Play will resume tomorrow morning at 8 a.m. Stanford is set to tee off at 8:49 a.m. from the 10th hole and is paired with host UCF and Illinois.
