Kapolei, Hawai'i - Stanford completed the first two rounds of the Kent Youel Invitational on Tuesday and sits in sixth place with a score of 13-over-par score of 590 (293-297). The Cardinal trail first-place San Francisco by 18 strokes after the Dons fired a two-round total of 5-under-par 571 (285-286).
Sydney Burlison and Mari Chun led the way for Stanford after completing the two rounds at 2-over-par. The duo is currently tied for ninth place, 12 strokes off the lead set by Jane Chin of UC Irvine.
Burlison opened with a round of 3-under-par 69 and was tied for second place after the first round, but fell back after a 77 in round two. Chun opened with a 75, but climbed back into the top-10 after a round of 1-under-par 71 in round two.
Tied for 21st is Rebecca Durham who sits at 4-over-par after shooting rounds of 75 and 73.
Also competing for Stanford were Lila Barton and Ki-Shui Liao. Barton is tied for 35th at 8-over-par after rounds of 74 and 78. Liao is tied for 60th after rounds of 81 and 76 to sit 13-over-par.
Piper Miller also competed as an individual and played well firing an even-par round of 72 in the first round and 5-over-par 77 in the second round.
The Cardinal will be back at the Kapolei Golf Course on Wednesday for the final round of the Kent Youel Invitational. Stanford will look to climb in the overall standings with 18 holes of golf left to be played.
