Stanford Takes Over Lead At Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational

Sammamish, Wash. - Stanford fired a round of 15-over-par 303 for the second consecutive day on Tuesday and took over the lead at the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational from the Sahalee Country Club.

The Cardinal got great play from Mari Chun whose round of 1-under-par 71 was tied for the lowest of the day. She moved into sole possession of second place with a two-day total of 2-over-par 146, just one stroke off the leader, Kay Hoey of Long Beach State.

Stanford holds a two stroke lead over Oregon who sits in second place, two strokes back. The Ducks relinquished their first-round lead by shooting team score of 21-over-par 309 on Tuesday.

Also playing well for Stanford was Angela King who shot a second-round of 3-over-par 75. King now tied for 13th with a score of 9-over-par 153.'

In that same tie for 13th overall is Rebecca Durham who entered the round tied for second, but fell back after a round of 8-over-par 80 on Tuesday.

Stanford's two freshmen, Lila Barton and Sydney Burlison are part of a six-way tie for 29th with scores of 14-over-par 158. Barton fired a round of 5-over par 77 on Tuesday, while Burlison shot a round of 9-over-par 81.

The Cardinal will look to hold on for their first tournament victory since last season at the Peg Barnard Invitational. Mari Chun will also look to duplicate her 2006 performance when she won the medalist honor at the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational and led Stanford to the team title.
