SACRAMENTO, Calif. - The No. 2 Stanford lightweight women repeated as Pacific Coast Champions today. In 100-degree weather, the Cardinal lightweights pushed out to a one length lead by the 1500 meter mark. At the halfway point Stanford had an openwater advantage.
Stanford crossed the finish line in 6:56, followed by Loyola Marymount in 7:19, and Santa Clara in 7:27. "There's still room for improvement, but it was nice to see the team do a lot of what's going to be necessary to be successful at the national championship," said Head Coach Al Acosta.
The Cardinal lightweighs next race will be the IRA National Championship on June 7-8 in Cherry Hill, NJ.
