PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif.- Junior Hilary Barte was defeated by Florida's Allie Will 6-1, 6-4 in the second round of the Riviera/ITA All-American Championships on Friday afternoon.
Barte, the tournament's No. 5 seed, had posted a 7-5, 6-3 win over UCLA's Yasmin Schnack one day earlier in the first round.
In doubles, the team of Barte and senior Lindsay Burdette dropped an 8-4 decision to Tennessee's tandem of Natalie Pluskota and Caitlin Whoriskey. The matchup was a rematch of last year's NCAA Doubles semifinal, which saw Barte and Burdette prevail 6-4, 3-6, 7-6 (4).
In addition to some members of the Cardinal squad competing this weekend at the Saint Mary's Invitational, others will compete in the Wilson/ITA Northwest Regional Championships on Oct. 23-26.
