STANFORD, Calif.- No. 15 Stanford topped No. 32 Arizona 6-1 on Saturday afternoon at the Taube Family Tennis Stadium, prevailing in its first Pac-10 counting match of the year.
Stanford (11-3, 1-0 Pac-10) has won four in a row overall and collected its third victory over the last five days. Arizona drops to 11-6 overall and 0-1 in league action.
The Cardinal swept all three doubles matches to take a 1-0 lead.
Bradley Klahn and Greg Hirshman provided easy wins on courts one and six, respectively, to help Stanford quickly build a 3-0 advantage.
Arizona picked up its only point of the match at the No. 2 spot, but Ryan Thacher defeated Andres Carrasco 6-1, 6-4 at the No. 3 position to secure the match.
Stanford next faces Baylor on Tuesday, Mar. 30, at 3 p.m. in the fourth annual HP Cup.
