STANFORD, Calif. -

Live weekend Stanford TV, radio and webcast schedule listed below.

Baseball
Two Stanford pitchers have been given their first starts of the year in Pac-10 play over the past week. On Thursday, sophomore Brian Busick, who had a 1.26 ERA out of the bullpen, gave up three runs on six hits over 4.1 innings and left the contest after giving up a tying bloop single in a game Stanford would lose to UCLA, 6-5, in 10 innings. Freshman Mark Appel made his debut start the previous Friday in the Cardinal's Pac-10 opener against USC, though he lasted only 2 2/3 innings in a no decision.

Women's Basketball
Jeanette Pohlen's coast-to-coast driving layup as time expired may have been the most exciting finish in the history of Stanford's program, but not by much. In the 2004 NCAA Midwest Regional semifinal, Kelley Suminski beat Vanderbilt with a three-point shot with 0:00.3 seconds left for a 57-55 Stanford victory. Of Stanford's 60 national tournament victories, only six have been decided three points or fewer, or gone into overtime.

The Cardinal has won 31 tournament games by 20 or more points, and 48 by 10 or more. The margin has been in single digits in only 12 victories. And in Stanford's past 20, only Monday's 55-53 victory over Xavier has been by fewer than nine points.

Men's Golf
Stanford will attempt to rebound from its second-round loss to USC at the Callaway Collegiate Match Play Championships with its first victory in the 38th annual Arizona State Thunderbird Invitational at the school's Karsten Course in Tempe, Ariz. Stanford hasn't had an individual champion either in the event, which was twice won by Phil Mickelson.

Women's Golf
Stanford is ranked 12th in Golfweek's national rankings. The Cardinal is off this week before resuming its schedule at the PING ASU Invitational on April 9-11.

Men's Gymnastics
Stanford regained the No. 1 nation ranking this week after defeating Illinois-Chicago last Friday. The Cardinal earned enough points to raise its top-3 average to 359.367, surpassing Oklahoma for the top spot.

Women's Gymnastics
Carly Janiga was named the Pac-10's Scholar-Athlete for her sport, reflecting her accomplishments both in the gym and the classroom. Janiga, a four-time Pac-10 Conference individual champion, is a psychology major who carries a cumulative GPA of 3.78.

Lacrosse
The Cardinal improved to 5-0 at Laird Q. Cagan Stadium with a thrilling overtime win over No. 19 Hofstra this week. The Cardinal is 5-1 at home this season, but the one defeat came at Varsity Turf after the game needed to be moved due to inclement weather.

Sailing
The Stanford sailing team hosts the final regional regatta at St. Francis Yacht Club in San Francisco on Saturday and Sunday. Thirty-two teams are scheduled to compete. The women will head to Providence for an April 17-18 regatta in New London, R.I.

Softball
The Cardinal opened the Pac-10 Conference season Thursday, with a 1-0 victory over Cal in a 12-inning marathon. Freshman pitcher Teagan Gerhart not only went the distance in the circle to pick up her 19th win of the season, but the Norco, Calif., native also scored the winning run. The Cardinal and Bears will play Game Two of the three-game series Friday at 7 p.m. at Smith Family Stadium.

Men's Tennis
Stanford's HP Cup match against Baylor on Tuesday will be televised by Comcast SportsNet Bay Area, airing on Sunday at noon. The match will also be replayed on Friday, April 16, at 2:30 p.m.

Men's Track and Field
The outdoor season is still young, but two Stanford athletes are already ranked in the top 10 in the NCAA. Dylan Ferris ranks third in the 800 meters with a time of 1:48.72, while Amaechi Morton ranks 10th in the 400 meters with a time of 46.66.

Women's Track and Field
The Cardinal also have a pair of top-10 national rankings, but both come in field events. Katerina Stefanidi ranks tied for third in the pole vault (14-1 ¼) and Whitney Liehr ranks third in the triple jump (42-2).

Men's Volleyball
Stanford will clinch a berth in the eight-team Mountain Pacific Sports Federation with one more victory in its final six regular-season matches. The Cardinal enters Friday night's match at Cal State Northridge with a half-game lead in MPSF standings. The MPSF Tournament is vital because it determines the conference's only automatic berth into the four-team NCAA Tournament, which will be played at Maples Pavilion on May 6 and 8.

Women's Water Polo
Stanford has a half-game lead in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation, with a 4-0 record to second-place USC's 3-0. Stanford (19-1 overall) will return to action next week, when it takes a trip to Hawai'i to battle the Rainbow Wahine on April 11. Melissa Seidemann (38 goals) is fourth in the conference in scoring with a 1.90 per game goals average.

Wrestling
Five Cardinal wrestlers were selected to the Pac-10 All-Academic team this week, including a conference-best three on the first team. Seniors Jake Johnson and Tyler Parker and sophomore Nick Amuchastegui all earned first-team honors for the second consecutive season. Amuchastegui, a mechanical engineering major, turned in the highest GPA (3.94) in the conference.
