Andrew Yun Captures The Prestige At PGA West Title

La Quinta, Calif. - Andrew Yun shot a final-round 65 to capture the individual title at The Prestige at PGA West. Yun played all three rounds under par to finish at 12-under-par 204 for a six-stroke victory.

"It was neat to see Andrew Yun get first tourney win," said head coach Conrad Ray. "He played a flawless final round with final round pins on the Stadium Course. Hats off to him."

As a team, the Cardinal finished in a tie for second after a final round of 4-over-par 292. California took the team title with a three-day total of even-par 864. Stanford and Washington tied for second, three strokes back.

"It was a good tournament for us all things considered," said Ray. "Everyone contributed and with two freshmen in the lineup, tying for second is a nice week."

Yun played sensational golf all weekend, making 15 birdies and just three bogies on the PGA West Stadium Course. His final round of 7-under-par 65 was the best round of the day as he separated himself from the rest of the field.

Also playing well on Tuesday was Steve Ziegler who shot a round of two-over-par 74. Ziegler had back-to-back 74's to finish at 11-over for the tournament in 47th place.

Freshmen Cameron Wilson and Shane Lebow showed flashes of brilliance over the tournament, each carding rounds in the 60's. On Tuesday, Wilson had a tough start with four bogies in the first six holes, but righted the ship to finish with a 4-over-par 76. Wilson ended the tournament in fifth place with a score of 3-under-par 213.

Lebow had an up and down round to finish with a 5-over-par 77. He finished 10-over-par for the tournament and placed tied for 43rd.

Steve Kearney fired an 80 on Tuesday to finish at 18-over-par and tied for 67th.

Playing as an individual, Graham Brockington had his best round of the tournament, firing a final round 76. Brockington finished in a tie for 77th place.
