TULSA, Okla.- Juniors Bradley Klahn and Ryan Thacher remain in contention at the D'Novo/ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa, Okla., as main draw competition in singles and doubles gets underway Thursday morning.
Both players will be featured in the singles draw, with Klahn earning the event's No. 3 seed while Thacher was one of 16 qualifiers to emerge after ripping off three straight wins during the qualifying round. Tomorrow's matches have Klahn battling Tulsa's Ashley Watling at 9 a.m. PT and Thacher taking on Vanderbilt's Ryan Lipman at 8 a.m. PT.
Klahn and Thacher will also compete in doubles as the tournament's No. 2-seeded tandem, squaring off against Louisville's Alejandro Calligari and Simon Childs at 4:30 p.m. PT on Thursday.
The 2010 NCAA singles champion and an All-American in both singles and doubles last year, Klahn is coming off a season in which he posted a 41-8 overall record. Thacher finished 26-8 overall in singles last year, playing mostly at the No. 3 spot while maintaining a top-80 national ranking for the majority of the year.
One of the country's elite doubles teams, Klahn and Ryan Thacher received a final national ranking of No. 4 and reached the semifinals of the 2010 NCAA Doubles Championships.
