SANTA CRUZ, Calif.-- Stanford Swimming (1-0) won its first dual meet of the season, sweeping all 13 events against host UC Santa Cruz.
Stanford junior Bobby Bollier, a three-time Pac-10 champion won two events, the 100 freestyle and the 50 fly and was also a part of the winning 200 free relay team. Bollier had the fastest times of 46.53 in the 100 free and 22.84 in the 50 fly. Bollier was also the anchor leg of the relay, finishing off with a time of 1:25.45.
Andrew Saeta was a part of both winning relay teams, leading off the 200 medley relay team, which produced a time of 1:34.41 and also the starting leg of the 200 free relay team.
It also marked the debuts of Mitchell Stoehr (200 free), Jake Hartley (50 free), Bryan Offutt (500 free) and Nick Manousos (100 IM), who all won events on Saturday.
The Cardinal are next in action when they are at the one-day Pacific Invite on October 16. The annual alumni meet is on Saturday, October 23 of Homecoming Weekend.
