FLUSHING, N.Y.- Through two days of competition at the USTA/ITA National Indoor Championships, Stanford has a pair of doubles teams still alive in the consolation draw following Friday's action.
On the women's side, top-seeded Hilary Barte and Kristie Ahn won their second round matchup before falling in the quarterfinals.
Over in the men's bracket, Bradley Klahn suffered a 6-2, 6-2 setback to Florida's Alexandre Lacroix in his second round match.
All three participating doubles teams from both sides had already shifted over to the consolation bracket. The duo of Barte and Mallory Burdette remains in contention, after defeating Northwestern's Linda Abu Mushrefova and Nida Hamilton 8-5 on Friday. The men's pairing of Klahn and Ryan Thacher also moved on after a 9-7 triumph over Austen Childs and Viktor Maksimcuk of Tennessee.
