No. 1 Cardinal Continue Win Streak Dating Back to 2008

STANFORD, Calif.-- Junior Sam Woodward was a part of three wins and senior Meg Hostage swept the diving as No. 1-ranked Stanford (7-0) won its 32nd-straight dual meet with a 169-131 win over No. 21-ranked UCLA (9-2) on Friday.

Woodward (Edmond, OK) was a part of both winning relay teams, anchoring the 200 medley relay team, 11-tenths ahead of UCLA, before finishing off the Bruins by leading off the winning 200 free relay team which finished with a mark of 1:30.04. In between Woodward was a part of a 1-2-3 sweep in the 50 free with a time of 22.83 and was also third in the 100 fly with a mark of 54.32.

Hostage (Potomac, MD) swept the diving, picking up a win in the one-meter with a score of 281.025, before finishing off the meet with a win in the three-meter with a mark of 337.75. Freshman Stephanie Phipps was second in the three (299.925) and third in the one-meter (248.325).

Freshman Felicia Lee (Wayne, NJ) also took home two wins, leading the 100 back with a time of 54.23 and then winning the 100 free with a time of 49.88. Andie Taylor won the 200 free (1:48.28) and was second int eh 200 IM (2:02.30). Lee was also the fly leg of the 200 medley relay win.

Overall Stanford won 10 of 16 events, continuing the second-longest win streak in school history, dating back to January 25, 2008. The team last lost on November 9, 2007 at Georgia.

Stanford closes out the home portion of its schedule on Saturday when it hosts No. 3-ranked USC at 1 p.m.
