SEATTLE- Isaiah Thomas scored 14 of his 22 points in the final three minutes of the first half while Matthew Bryan-Amaning added 15 points and six rebounds as Washington beat Stanford 87-76 on Saturday night.

Washington (17-7, 9-4 Pac-10) avenged a loss last month at Stanford when the Huskies blew an 11-point lead in the final nine minutes and suffered their first Pac-10 setback. Back on Jan. 13, Stanford prevailed 58-56 as the Cardinal held the Huskies to almost 30 points below their season average and allowed only 36.2 percent shooting overall.

Thomas missed his first four shots, then caught fire at the end of the first half and led the Huskies to a 48-31 lead at the break.

Jeremy Green matched his season-high total of 24 points and added a career-best 12 rebounds for his first career double-double. It was the fourth consecutive game scoring at least 20 points for Green, who finished 3-8 from three-point territory and 5-5 from the charity stripe.

Stanford outscored Washington 45-39 in the second half and outrebounded Washington 36-33.

Washington's 87 points were the most allowed by Stanford this season and just the second time any team topped 80 against the Cardinal.

Stanford head coach Johnny Dawkins
On the difference between the two games this year:
"I thought they played well. I thought we turned it over a few too many times, which led to transition and easy opportunities for them. And let's face it, they're a very good basketball team, and tonight they played well. They made it hard for us to get into the offense, and they turned defense into offense a number of times."

On Washington's high-pressure defense:
"We got off to a late start a few times in the first half, and that was difficult. We have to go to counters, we need to go to our pressure releases more, and we didn't really do that. We've got to continue to get better."

Washington head coach Lorenzo Romar
Opening Statement:
"I am excited that we played, going back to Thursday, three really really good halves of basketball. The fourth half was not as good. Isaiah got hot at the end of the half, knocked some shots down and we were able to distance ourselves. The second half, we just couldn't distance ourselves, couldn't get that energy up to that level we had in the first half. We didn't finish that game like I would have liked. However, Thursday and Saturday, we have made huge progress from how we have been playing the last couple of weeks. So I am excited about that. Now it's time to move on and try this road thing again."
