FEDERAL WAY, Wash. - Stanford men's divers opened up the Pac-10 Diving Championships Wednesday in Federal Way, Wash., as Dhruv Tyagi and Brent Eichenseer reached the 1-meter finals and finished fifth and seventh, respectively.

Tyagi and Eichenseer stood in sixth and seventh place with totals of 308.55 and 303.70 points, respectively, following Wednesday's preliminary round, clinching spots in the final by virture of their top-eight finishes. Fellow Cardinal divers Noah Garcia (275.30) and Taylor Sishc (272.85) finished 10th and 12th in the prelims and failed to qualify for the final.

In the final, Tyagi's score of 351.00 was enough to lift him a spot into fifth place. Eichenseer bettered his preliminary total with a score of 310.40 but remained in seventh after all divers had completed their turns.

The 2011 Pac-10 Championships will continue Thursday morning from Federal Way.
