AUSTIN, Texas - Stanford's men's golf team finished sixth at the Morris Williams Intercollegiate which wrapped up on Tuesday at the University of Texas Golf Course in Austin, Texas.
The Cardinal shot a final round team score of 298 and finished +57 (909) for the 54-hole event.
Texas won the team title with a score of 892 (+40), clipping Texas Tech (892) by one stroke. Arkansas placed third at (900)followed by TCU (904) and Kent State (905).
Stanford's Andrew Yun made a strong run at the invididual title with a closing round 69 (-3), but finished one stroke behind medalist Tom Hogue of TCU, who won the event with a 215 (+3).
Yun was one-under after his first five holes but suffered a double bogey at the par-4 sixth hole. He rattled off four straight birdies to start the back nine before making another double on hole No. 14.
Yun, who finished at 216 (+3) for the event, notched his fifth top-five finish of the year, including his third straight.
Steven Kearney tied for 30th at 231 (+18). Brockington closed witha 77 on Tuesday while Kearney carded a 74.
Senior Steve Ziegler finished tied for 52nd after a final round 81 while Cameron Wilson tied for 62nd at 239 (+26) after a final round 78.
Stanford will next be in action at the Western Intercollegiate Championships, scheduled for April 16-17 at the Pasatiempo Golf Club.
