Jeremy Green To Remain In NBA Draft

May 8, 2011

STANFORD, Calif.- Stanford's Anne and Tony Joseph Director of Men's Basketball Johnny Dawkins has announced that junior guard Jeremy Green will forego his senior season and remain in the NBA Draft.

Green had until Sunday's NCAA deadline to decide whether to commit to the draft or remove his name from consideration and retain his college eligibility. Green declared himself eligible for the draft on Apr. 28 but did not hire an agent at the time. The NBA Draft is scheduled for June 23.

"Jeremy has had an impact on our program and I am proud of everything he has accomplished during his time at Stanford," said Dawkins. "We wish him the best of luck in his pursuit of a professional career."

The Pac-10's fifth-leading scorer in 2010-11 at 16.7 points per game, Green also ranked second in the league in three-point field goals made at 2.8. A two-time All-Pac-10 selection, Green shot 42.3 percent overall, 42.9 percent from three-point territory and 79.4 percent from the free throw line while averaging 3.4 rebounds per game. Over the season's final 10 games, Green averaged 21.4 points per game while shooting 54.0 percent overall, 52.9 percent from beyond the arc and 82.7 percent from the foul line.

After breaking Casey Jacobsen's single-season record for three-pointers made (93) as a sophomore, Green continued to climb in the Stanford record books. Green tallied a career-high seven three-pointers against Oregon State on March 9 in the season's final game, moving into second place on Stanford's all-time three-point field goals list with 228. Dion Cross (1992-96) holds the school record with 241 treys.

In 97 career games and 62 career starts, Green has averaged 13.0 points and 3.0 rebounds per game while shooting 41.5 percent overall, 41.3 percent from three-point territory and 80.6 percent from the foul line.
